Some pointers. &#8211; Part 1. Many a times, we only check at specific places and forget other areas while debugging. This small blog acts as a checklist to check and debug Liferay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Look at installing and using GLOWROOT<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the slow traces \/ web transactions \/ errors and the related graphs in GLOWROOT<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the logging levels module wise and overall<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check all the Liferay nodes if in a cluster<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the app server logs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check JNDI &amp; JDBC settings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the things by simulating on default vanilla instance \/ bundle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use help center articles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check your webserver, load balancer and database configurations plus logs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check your portal &amp; system properties<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check configurations in control panel for the related work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check your custom API list<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check details via GoGo shell commands<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the code in Liferay DevStudio or your favorite IDE<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check marketplace apps that are installed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consider using Groovy scripting for debugging<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check virtual instances if in use<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check OSGI configurations if added<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check your elastic search server status<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check your heap size and thread dumps plus configurations in setenv.sh\/bat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Blog also gives you an idea on the configurability and extent of Liferay modularity.
